Real Estate Consultation
Somebody should read it before you sign it
Service Description
One hour on the property. Buying it, selling it, building on it, inheriting it, or arguing with somebody about it. We read the contract while you can still walk away. We look at the title, the survey, and how the deed is actually worded, because the way you take title decides what happens years later. If you inherited a house with your siblings and one of them will not sell, we talk about your options and what a partition action really costs. If you are a landlord, we talk about the D.C. rules, which are their own world. Construction comes up more than people expect. If you are about to sign with a contractor, bring the agreement and we go through the scope of work, the payment schedule, the change order language, and what the contract says happens when the job runs late. If you have already signed and the work is not going the way you were told it would, we read what you signed and talk about where that leaves you. Bring the contract, the deed, the notice, whatever you are holding. If there is a closing date or a deadline running on a letter, say so when you call and we will work around it. Real estate and construction matters in the District of Columbia and Maryland: purchase and sale contracts, deeds and title problems, construction contract review, change orders, landlord and tenant questions, and inherited property.
